Using Social Marketing To Get Targeted Traffic
Using Social Marketing To Get Targeted Traffic
Social marketing or networking is becoming an internet marketing sensation. Well it probably has already obtained it. Twitter is driving it off the scale. But there are many different social marketing applications out there for the internet marketer to use.
Many of the social marketing websites such as article directories, blog directories, Squidoo, and many others are considered by Google as authority sites.
Getting Google’s attention so that they rank your website/blog will lead to traffic coming to your site – especially if you can get ranked high.
Part of Google’s the ranking methodology involves links. These are established by the websites owners and users. In the ranking system each link is given a measure of authority. In the end of what Google’s methodology does, you will get traffic dependent on the search engines determination and evaluation of the information on your pages.
Your pages have the opportunity to receive lots of free traffic if you can put information on the pages that Google deems as worthy of a high ranking.
Google is king among the search engines right now, but the battle rages every day. Regardless, getting your pages to rank high means more traffic.
Google also has a method where you can get more traffic to your site by paying for it. This involves setting up an advertising campaign for your site.
If you can set up an advertising campaign that has really relevant ads, you can achieve a high click through rate for your site. Pay Per Click advertisers spend millions of dollars trying to get exposure for their sites. And they do this every day.
Since Google ranks your ad based on the ads performance, the more relevant you can make your ad and get higher click through rates the cheaper you advertising costs will be. PPC is a good way to get traffic, but you must keep modifying your ads to improve their performance. Relevancy is important and Google wants to make money also. As a consequence they will reward you for making your ads relevant.
You can also use advertising on some of the social networking sites like FaceBook, MySpace, Friendster, etc. to attract traffic to your site. These sites depend on the interaction between their members and the members can help sites get more traffic.
For example some social networking sites have ranking systems where their members determine a ranking for your site. Someone sees you’re your site and gives it a five star rating – you hope. That could entice some other member of the social networking community to visit your site. As more and more people in the community get to know you, your site might get higher ratings and you will get more traffic as a result.
It’s all about the perceive needs of your visitors. If you can figure out what a large segment of the community wants, their psychological needs, you stand a chance of getting a lot of traffic to your site. Just stay relevant to the topic of the community.
Social marketing is all about connecting with the members of the community. When you learn to do that you will see an improvement in your internet marketing efforts. And the beauty of social networking is that the traffic that you get is targeted.
Here is a free report on social networking that will help you with your internet marketing efforts.
