I couldn't agree with you more, Lonnie! As part of a marketing mix, article marketing is a must-have for every log-term plan for success online. Two important things to remember are that articles bring traffic in long-term, so don't link them to products that may disappear quickly. Often it's better to build a resource page on your site that links to various current products, then link to that since you can update that page whenever necessary. Secondly, be sure every page you link to from your Authors Resource Box has an opt-in form on it so the reader can join your list to get your e-zine. They read your first article and took acton - they clicked through to your site. Now get them to take action again by joining your list while they're still in active mode. Your right, article marketing is a fantastic way to build up more targeted traffic. It won't happen over night with articles, but over months and years it will keep adding up with the more articles you write. I agree 100%! Article marketing should be one of the first things that you should do once you get your site live. People just need to be aware that this is not instant traffic, but it is traffic that will build over time. It may take some time for you to see the results from this and for that reason a lot of people may shy away from it. Once you get your articles in place then you can move on to other traffic sources. Article marketing is the name of the game. A good article is one that gets reprinted. So its important to be short sweet and punchy. Use a Grabber headline, and stick to one point. A good story and a few word pictures help. If your reader can see in their mind what you are telling them, its likely you will get picked up by editors and get the traffic you want.
