7 Aspects Of Blog Content

First, let’s look at what a blog is. Basically a blog is a website where you can place your content. Actually that is what any website is. But our subject is blogs.
You have to decide what you content will be, that is what you will place on your blog. This is really a critical choice. If your blog is to be a successful part of your plan to make money online then your must consider your content – anything that you place on your blog.

For example, you might consider articles, images, videos, text ads, banners, opt-in box for your newsletter, etc. It’s all content and probably most of your content will be text. However, all of it is important in your efforts at generating traffic and making money online.

So let’s look at seven aspects of content.

1. Subject Matter.

Whatever your subject matter it must have traffic potential. It must be something that others will be interested in enough to return to your blog for more of your content. Also, remember that you will be changing it, adding to it on a regular basis. Even if it is something you know a lot about you will be researching the topic for more and more information that you can write about.

2. Quality And Uniqueness.

The success of your blog and its potential for making you money online, acquiring opt-ins, etc. rests on your ability to attract repeat visitors. Quality posts will help to insure that your visitors return. If lots of uniqueness is also a part of your blog, you will have a combination that will take you down the road to being a successful blogger.

3. Updating Content.

If people like your topic and you constantly update your content, then they will want to see more of what you have to say. People search the web because they are looking for information. They like to visit sites that are updated on a regular basis. If they know that they can find fresh content on your site, they don’t have to go searching for it. They know where to find it.

Not only are you improving your chances of getting repeat visitors, but updated content will help to gain you better ranking with the search engines.

4. Keywords And Content.

What do keywords and content have to do with each other? Well the whole concept of search engines is keywords. Search engines depend on people using keywords to search for information. If you use keywords that people are searching for in your content, you will increase the chances that someone will stumble upon your blog post.

Use keywords and phrases in your blog posts but be careful not to compromise the integrity of your effort to provide quality content.

5. Use Controversy.

Have you ever noticed how your attention is increased when you read something that is controversial? Putting something controversial on your blog will make some people take notice and likely increase your traffic.

Find subjects in your topic that are controversial and make posts about them from time to time. Just don’t overdo it. Some readers may take exception to your controversial posts and stop reading your blog – so go easy with this type of content.

6. Useable Content.

Blog readers scan a post quickly trying to make a decision about moving on or spending more time on your blog. Make sure that you give them a reason to stay put. Provide them with useful content – something that gets their attention and says, “Stick around, you can use this.”

Another aspect of usability is presentation. Make your blog easy to scan. Use short paragraphs and use white space. Make your blog easy on the eyes – select readable fonts and sizes

7. Write Down What You Think Of.

As I mentioned you should update your blog frequently. If you are like most people, at least me, you will sit down before your computer some day and not be able to think of a single think to write about. But you will say to yourself, “What was that I was thinking of yesterday that would make a good post?”

When a good thought for a post comes to your mind, write it down, else you will forget it. Writing it down when you think of it will decrease the number of times that you experience writer’s block. A new term is emerging – “blogger’s block.”

If you will keep these things in mind when you are working on the content for your blog, you will improve the quality and the appeal of your blog and this will help you establish your affiliate internet business online. It will also help you in your attempts to make money online.

What Is An “Announcement” List?

DEFINED: An announcement list is a list whose sole purpose is to “announce” (I.E. Inform, notify) when something new is available for review, consumption or purchase.

In other words, it unapologetically says, “Hey, I just released XYZ. Come check it out!”

Now, at first glance you may be thinking, “Who would join a list that offers no content and only sales pitch?”

If you say it that way, it doesn’t sound too good to me either! That’s why you don’t say it that way. Let’s take a look at HOW to “say it”…

How About An Example “Announcement” List?

you’ll find a textbook example of this concept. PLRSO stands for “Private Label Rights Special Offers” I established this list for the sole purpose of informing people anytime I have a new PLR offer available for them to buy.

That’s it.

I don’t send out ezine articles to them. No newsletters. They don’t get blog posts. There aren’t any special reports. No content of any kind. What they get, in essence, are sales messages.

And there are already 2,822 subscribers, many of which have already purchased some of the PLR special offers that have been “announced” to the list.

Why does it work? Let me give you plenty of reasons…

1. I took something that was “in-demand” (PLR) and I allow people to get a head-start on the world by knowing about new releases FIRST by joining this list.

* Bloggers List. Another idea is to allow bloggers who are looking for ready-made content to post to their blogs.

* Industry News List. How about becoming the “go to” guy or gal to share breaking news about your industry?

* Joint Venture List. Develop a list of partners and affiliates who are ready to promote anytime you have a new offer.

* Incentives List. Here’s a great idea – create a list of people who you offer “incentives” to when they purchase someone else’s new product through YOUR affiliate link.

You’re in an affiliate internet business online and you would like to make a profit. Are you trying to mold the internet, business, and profit all into a successful attempt to make money online? In this effort you exchange links with other sites. This will be slow but in the end both parties will see increased traffic as a result of this effort. Find website owners that will link to your site as you link to theirs. Comment on blogs. If a conversation gets started, you may get a link back to your blog.

2. Pay for advertising.

With Google AdWords and Yahoo Overture you can almost guarantee that you will get traffic to your site. This will cost and you cannot be sure that the traffic will produce the results that you want. But many of those that see your ads will click through to your site. You pay and then your website has to invoke the action that is necessary to make your advertising efforts profitable. But, you will get traffic so try to make it useful to your efforts.

3. Add Viral marketing to your set of traffic tools.

In this case you can use free methods to spread your business links all over the internet. You can get your web presence and your products before a lot of people, internet users. With this method you can develop info products or purchase products in which you can imbed your company name, links to your affiliate products, other information that will lead to you.

You can give these ebooks, etc. away or you can have this information attached in some way to a product that you sell. This works a lot like a virus and internet marketers get exposed to your efforts. As a result your internet business is exposed to more and more people.

At lease you might be high enough in the ranking to be considered before someone else.

5. Write and submit articles.

I mentioned this above, but if you will spend some time doing this on a consistent basis, you will see new traffic to your site. But you will have to keep up the effort. The more articles you submit, the more traffic you will see.

Also, there is a relationship being built here. If people like the articles that you submit, they will start looking for your articles and you will possibly be able to get people to read your articles on a regular basis and also go to your site.

6. Use your newsletter.

If you have not implemented a newsletter as part of your affiliate internet business online, now is the time to start one. Every time you mail your newsletter out you can include a link that takes your reader to your website or blog. This will drive some traffic to your online presence. Ask them to visit your blog. As they visit they will get more exposure to what you are doing and the products that your are promoting – your affiliate products, etc.

7. Join forums and use social communities.

Visit forums and become a part of what is going on there. Use your ability to include a signature. Here you can include a link back to your website or an offer that you have. Just follow the forum’s guidelines. As you become known in the community some will click through and you will have traffic. As your traffic increases and your offers are compelling, you will likely see an increase in sales or opt-ins.

As you use these steps your traffic will increase and when you provide what the traffic is looking for you will find success in your attempts to make money online. This will cause your affiliate internet business online to succeed.

6 Tips for Successful Viral Marketing

Here are six tips to help you get started using viral marketing to enhance your internet affiliate marketing efforts. Using viral marketing is a good way to increase your efforts to make money online.

1. Purchase or obtain branding rights to viral ebooks. After you have branded them with your own links, allow anyone that you give them to the right to give them to their visitors/subscribers. Allow anyone that obtains a copy of the ebook the right to give it away. This continually process of giving away will spread your links around the internet.

2. If you have the ability to set up a forum or other bulletin board, you really have a great tool. Allow people to use your online discussion board for their own website to help them make money online. Some people don’t have one. Just include your banner ad at the top of the board.

3. If you can design web sites, create some templates, graphics, etc. and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site. Make sure that you include a link back to your site in the copyright notice and require them to keep your copyright notice intact.

4. Write an ebook. Ask your subscribers to place their related advertisements in your free ebook. Make sure that they know that the price for their advertisement in your ebook is to give it away to their blog visitors and/or Ezine subscribers.

List Building – An Essential Internet Marketing Tool

There is something that you absolutely must have in order to build your list. You must have a way to communicate with the subscribers on your list. If you are involved in internet marketing, eventually you must have a way to present your opportunities to people, especially those on your list. Also you must have a way to go about list building itself; that is a way to get people onto your list.

You are going to need an autoresponder.

What is an autoresponder? It is an email program that records people’s name and email information and sends out a message or a series of messages for you.

You will not be able to get around the requirement to have such a program. There are many email programs that can accomplish this task.

Some mailer or mailing list manager systems require that you download the program to your computer. There are several disadvantages to doing this. One is that your computer will be tied up while your emails are being sent – not a problem for a small list, but a major problem for a large list.

Also, you will generally have to depend on your own efforts to make sure that a large number of your emails get delivered.

There are also other mailer programs; you may like some of them. You could search the Internet for them. However, I recommend that the best way to deliver your messages is with an autoresponder.

Some will say that an autoresponder/mailer program is not personnel enough.

Some people seem to object to getting letters from an autoresponder/mailer program. But it is essential that you have some sort of automated mail system to handle the large list that you are going to build.

I don’t believe that you will find a successful internet marketer out there that does not use an autoresponder or a mail management program of some sort.

So, don’t worry that your emails, or the ones that you receive, are being delivered by an autoresponder.

You will not, nor will anyone else, have time to set down and write each one of those people with Microsoft Outlook or any other standard email program.

You must automate the process of list building and contacting the people on the list that you build. That is what an autoresponder does.

Your list will be very profitable to you. So, start building Your List Now.

A good autoresponder company will work hard to insure that their delivery rate is high and that a relatively small number of ISP’s block emails delivered by their autoresponder system.

So, again what is an autoresponder?

An autoresponder is a system/program that automatically sends out messages to a list of people. It will send one messages as soon as an individual signs up.

Then a good autoresponder will automatically send out unlimited follow up messages over the following days, weeks, and months. Once you get it set up you basically don’t have to do anything else.

Your autoresponder should also allow you to broadcast a message to your subscribers. This means that you will be able to send a message to your list that is not a part of your ongoing email series.

So, to build a list you are going to attempt to get people to give you their name and email address and then you are going to follow up by sending them additional messages with your autoresponder.

Do not use a free autoresponder. Much could be said here. Suffice it to say, you will not get the services you need and you will probably have other people’s ads in your emails – not a good thing.

List Building Using Article Submission

You can build your list in many ways. But I’m getting ahead of myself unless

• you already have a list or
• you already know what a list is.

This post will be the start of a series of articles that will concentrate on you building your list.

In the internet marketing world a list is a compilation of the names and email address of prospects that you have permission to market your promotions to. List building is one of the keys to successful internet or affiliate marketing.

You can build your list by writing and submitting articles. Note that it takes both. Just writing articles will not complete the process. You must publish your articles. Some of the possible places to publish your articles are:

• Your Blog
• Your Newsletter
• Article Directories

This article will talk about submitting your articles to article directories. Regardless of your area of expertise or business, you can write articles and most if not all of the popular article directories will be happy to publish them. This is especially true if you provide good content and follow their guidelines.

In addition most of their readers are looking for pertinent and useful content for their needs – blogs, newsletters, etc.

You get an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge about your subject and/or business. Each article that you write enhances your acceptance by the article directories and their readers.

As a result more and more of your articles will be read and picked up and published by others for use in their newsletters and on their blogs/websites. You are using your articles to leverage traffic back to your site.

The tool that provides that traffic is the resource or bio box that you are allowed to attach to your article. The bio box will contain a link to your blog and/or squeeze page.

Your effort here should be to collect the reader’s contact information so that you can contact them in the future about what you are doing and promoting.
If they read your blog maybe they will subscribe to your newsletter. You should ask them to do so. The better the content that you provide, the better the chances are that you will get a faithful reader and likely a future customer.

In the end you get to build your list and brand yourself and the only cost to you is your time and effort to write and submit the articles.

This is also an example of viral marketing. It’s viral because your article contains links to you and your products. As your article is passed around it spreads like a virus – it becomes viral.

As more and more people see your links and signup for your newsletter, your potential to make money online increases. So, since you know that list building is a necessary part of internet and affiliate marketing, make the process of writing and submitting articles a part of your affiliate internet business online.

6 Ways To Make Money With Your List

If you have a large list or if you are just getting started with list building your primary efforts online should be to make money with your list. Implementing the following guidelines will enhance you income producing efforts.

1. Treat your subscribers with respect.

Let them know that appreciate them. Give them gifts from time to time. Stay on target with your offers. If your list is about affiliate marketing, don’t send promotional material about organic gardening. In the long run this will help you to build a stronger relationship with your subscribers.

2. Sell Advertisements from other internet marketers.

Many ezines allow others to place advertisements in their newsletters. The advertiser pays the ezine owner for allowing the ads to be a part of their newsletter. But the ads come as a part of the ezine – not as a direct mailing form the advertiser.

Never sell or otherwise make your list available to someone else. When someone else wants to send advertisements to your list, make sure that the promotional material is sent out as a part of your own emails.

If your list is relative large, you can make additional online income by allowing ads to be placed in your ezine.  Just make sure that the ads fit your ezine.

I don’t particularly like this method, but for many ezine owners, it is a major source of making money online.

3. Sell ebooks to your list.
Informational products are one of the greatest sellers that internet marketers promote. The promotion of these types of products is still a very major effort by those attempting to make money online.

I don’t have any statistics to prove it, but based on the emails that I receive, I would venture to say that informational products are the most prominent money makers among most internet marketers, especially among affiliate marketers.

4. Compile several of your own articles into an ebook.

Then promote that ebook to your list. It gives you a product of your own. You could even use it as a giveaway to enhance your list building efforts.

Many people will buy the compilation even though the information is available on your blog or in your ezine. Connivance rules over effort.

5. Encourage people on your list to invite their subscribers to join your list.

Encourage them to send their subscribers to your blog – where you have an opt-in box so that they can subscribe to your ezine.

6. Promote to your list.

If you don’t, you will not have any buyers from your ezine. Don’t worry about sending promotions soon after someone subscribes to your list. The main reason for you having a list is to make money online, so you must offer your subscribers something to buy – your own or someone else’s.

At the same time expect and accept that you will receive promotional emails from any list that your subscribe to.

There are many ways to get traffic to your opportunities, but most markets rely on their list as their main source of making money online.
